 VIDEO CLIPS

"FanTAPulous"

This video shows the final "FanTAPulous 2003" rehearsal for the "Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade". Rehearsal is under direction of choreographer Jenn Oldfield and although not readily seen, many JOD's took part in the production. Towards the end, co-choreographer Gail Oldfield and teacher Ashley Cornelius are seen dancing.

No one was ever turned away and participants ranged from "Pro's" to "Gee this sounds like fun". Here many of the JOD's proved themselves invaluable by stepping in and coaching some participants with their steps.

Original choreography included a number of intricate movements of dancer groups for the helicopter cameras and several different ground camera angles. Soundtrack from the broadway musical "42nd Street" was used as tribute to Busby Berkeley and his work.

"Lullaby of Broadway"

This has been called Busby Berkeley's signature piece and no one argues. It's perhaps the definitive cast production involving a large numbers of dancers. A remake today with a comparable number of dancers is unlikely as his choreographic work in "42nd Street" and the "Golddigger ..." series took place during the depression where he was one of the few, very few hiring dancers. Critics will say that he used camera angles, out-takes, re-takes, etc., but thats just cinematography. We are fortunate for having "You Tube" to provide us this glimpse back into dance history.
